A Row of Racal RA-17's

This is one of my favorite scenes from the Bond film Dr. No. It's supposed to be the communications room for the British Secret Service. The operators all have morse code keys (even though the movie has the agents communicating by voice rather than CW), but the equipment in front of them is a pair of Racal RA-17 receivers. No transmitters to be seen anywhere.

A row of lovely radios

Despite quibbles about technical accuracy, it's still nice to see these excellent receivers in this setting. I'd love to have a console of receivers like that!
